Figure hugging: Blake Lively looked stunning in a clingy navy blue dress as she filmed an episode of Gossip Girl in New York yesterday


She's famous for her sense of style and perfectly preened look on hit teen show Gossip Girl.

And Blake Lively didn't disappoint fans yesterday, as she filmed an episode of the show in a stunning short navy blue sleeveless dress and pair of beige strappy heels.

The star, who plays socialite Serena van der Woodsen in the series, wore her long blonde hair loose around her shoulders for the New York shoot.


But at one point, it seemed the 23-year-old star's strappy heels might have become a bit too much.

In her breaks from filming, Lively swapped out the spiky shoes for a pair of more comfortable flats.

Fans of the star's fashionable image will have a bit of a shock later this month when Lively appears in new Ben Affleck film The Town.

Set in the Boston projects, the film sees Lively play a single mother who deals drugs to get by.

Her ex-boyfriend (played by Affleck) is a bank robber wanted by the FBI.

'I’m on a very commercial show so the last thing I want to do is a commercial movie,’ she recently told Marie Claire when asked about her decision to take on the role.
‘I want to take risks, I don’t want to play it safe.

'I mean, I could probably make more money if I did more commercial projects. It would be nice to buy an apartment but I’m 23 and I don’t need to yet.’

The star today flew into Toronto to promote the film at the Toronto Film Festival.
She arrived at the airport looking more low key than usual in a straw hat, baggy jacket and no makeup.

But a few hours later, she re-appeared as her usual glamorous self, wearing a beige shirt, tailored trousers and animal print pointed shoes.

The new fourth season of Gossip Girl will air on The CW in the U.S. this Monday.
